A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Selena and I am a college graduate of Appalachian State University with a degree in Psychology. Since moving to Princeton three years ago, I have spent most of my working with children, with past experience in both being a nanny and working at Southern Highlands as a children's case manager in the local schools. I am looking to possibly return to being a nanny, I miss the strong connection that is built from working with the same kids everyday.

I love to help out with housework and meal prep, anything to help a busy parent's day be a little bit easier.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have worked the past year at Southern Highlands as an elementary school based children's case manager, which involved me running group sessions throughout the week at the schools. These groups had weekly topics that we discussed such as leadership, anxiety management, anger management, making friends, and communication.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Anything that the children enjoy doing! In the past, I have done art projects, building projects, cooking together, playing in the rain/snow, you name it. I also enjoy being a part of the child's extracurricular activities such as dance and swimming lessons.

The most important part about being a nanny...

is making the child feel comfortable and safe throughout the day, and never having to work to get them to listen to you because you've built respect with them, while still being a fun part of their day.

My experience with special needs children...

I do not have nanny experience with special needs children, but since working with Southern Highlands, I have met and worked with a great number of children with a range of special and mental health needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I love having the kids run to me as I walk in the door, knowing that they enjoy their time with me as much as I enjoy being there.
