More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

A little about me is that my philosophy in life is to bring joy and share knowledge. One of my favorite ways to do that is through children. They allow us to learn through teaching and that’s just a beautiful thing. I’ve learned so much through my years of volunteering at church daycares, working as a tutor (for children and college students), nannying, and working with current Girl Scouts as an, well I guess you could say, Girl Scout alumni. The point being, children have always been my life and hope to bring as much useful knowledge as I can into their lives as I do fun!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Due to being a girl scout for 13 years , I’m big on crafts and I’m being on nature haha. I believe crafts can allow you to use all of your sensory skills at once and they’re also just down right fun. Between a self written story time to a backyard kick ball game , I am ready to cater to your individual family needs and bring something exciting and new into your children’s lives.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I eventually want to build and run my own preschool or kindergarten one day, I believe it is important to start our focus on our earliest youth and allow them To grow moldable minds that can adapt and grow stronger while staying true to who they are as an individual. Until I get to my ultimate goal I want to help bring something new to the table with as many families I can.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment would have to be the first time I nannied first a longer period of time. I spent the whole summer with these two amazing vibrant 3 and 11 year old brothers. We enjoyed every second of our time together and they were such a light in my life. When August came and their parents returned, the two boys started breaking down the second their parents were in the threshold. I thought they cried because they missed their parents so dearly, but when the mother consoled them they said,” No we aren’t crying because you’re home. We are crying because now Shaelyn has to leave.” And it was the sweetest, saddest , and most hilarious thing that could be said in that moment of departure .
