A little bit about me

I am an older sister of 2 girls so over the years I've had a lot of experience taking care of kids since my mom works mornings to nights while my dad works evening and late night shifts. This experience has taught me how to cook for my siblings and I, and also to do fun activities, homework, give life advice, and I allow them to talk to me whenever they need something. I am all ears when it comes to people expressing their emotions, especially kids. It is very important that young kids have good examples and people around them growing up because a child’s mental health affects their future as well. I want to be a safe place for kids to not only have fun, but to also feel comfortable with sharing how they feel. All kids deserve someone who listens to their needs and that is patient, calm, and loving. If kids need help with homework, or anything in general, I would be glad to help. My schedule is very flexible in college which allows me to babysit for many hours.

For the last 25+ years, I worked as a licensed master social worker for the county.

For the county wide, I worked with so many adults and children whose language is primarily American Sign Language (ASL). I worked in many different sections in CPS, Medical, Court, and legal systems. I also worked with many families to establish the communication system with children.

Prior to the county job, I worked with the special group deaf females who deal with their behavior and emotional needs.

I understand how important it is to have the first aid certification. Upon working with me, I will have the certification in process.

I can do one story house only. If not, the area for your child's needs is all set on the first floor. That would be very helpful. A non-smoking home environment is important for me.
