I think the most important part about being a nanny is creating a trustworthy bond between the family and myself. I want to have trust not just with the parents but with the kids as well. Just because the parents hired you doesn't mean the kids are gonna trust you. If you want to have a fun and enjoyable time you need to build trust with the family.
My experience with special needs children...
My cousin paid me as a babysitter for her when she went to work and her son is a special needs kid who I had to watch. I made sure he took his medicine and I changed him regularly. I helped bathe him and just treated him like he was my little brother. I would sit with him watching shows or just read to him.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Well one time I actually got a gift made by the little kiddos I was watching over. They made a play for me which was just adorable and then they made cookies for me. I loved it kids are just so sweet and kind when you get to know them well.
