The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part as a caregiver is the health and well-being of the child. It’s very important to make observations so that the child’s needs are met. Communication with the parents is also important, we’re a team and we all need to be on the same page, everything just flows a lot better when there a common understanding.
My experience with special needs children...
I haven’t really experienced a child that has special needs but I do have a certificate for that area of study. I do know they require a bit more patience than a child that doesn’t have special needs. I have experienced children that have a hard time listening and testing boundaries. In situations where a child may be a bit difficult to handle, you have to remember that it’s an process that you have to be patient with and remember they need you to be an example, both the parents and caregiver. It won’t happen overnight but consistency is key on both ends.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite moment Is when kids take their first steps. It’s a very emotional and exciting part of the my job. They grow up so fast and I try my best to capture those moments so the parents can also experience that wonderful moment.
