Hi I’m Shelby!
I’ve been working in childcare on and off for 7 years. I’ve worked as an extended school care teacher, a daycare teacher, and a nanny. I absolutely love children especially babies. Another fun fact about me is I am the youngest of 28 first cousins so I’ve been babysitting since I was 10. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked at Hope Lutheran Church and School in the after school care program.
I was a lead toddler teacher at La Petite Academy.
I was a floating teacher: meaning I was teaching in every classroom. Which was infant A all through Pre Kindergarten at Countryside Child Development Center and became the lead Early Preschool teacher.
I’ve also nannied for 3 different families in the past two years. All positions ended for reasons including moving, bosses loosing jobs, and daycare.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love art projects and dance parties. I also love being outside and anything that has to do with music

The most important part about being a nanny...

The first thing is safety and the second is communication. Having good communication between nanny and parent will benefit the child’s overall care.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with a few kids with autism. One was in preschool and the other early preschool. I however did not go to school for special education so I am not very experienced

The most important part about being a nanny...

When I was teaching in EPS I had a little girl who was a huge Taylor Swift fan. We’ll just say she turned me and all her classmates into a swiftie. If it was a good day you’d walk the halls and hear music blaring and all the kids dancing.
