I worked as a preschool teacher through my church, for kids ages 3 to 5 for five years, and as a 5th grade student teacher for half a year.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
When it comes to outdoor activities, I let the kids minds run wild. I usually take them to the park and, with little ones especially, walk around behind them and watch over them. If they ask me to join in with their fun and wherever their imagination is taking them, I will. Indoor activities, I try to engage them in puzzles and more brain teasing activities. Along with the basic arts and crafts, kids should be kids and playing instead of always stuck in front of a screen.

is staying connected to and with the children and really making a connection. Not just being someone there “watching them”, but being someone who’s involved.

is when I went to wake this 9 yr old boy i was watching to get him ready for school. I went in and told him to come get in the shower and i started it for him and he rolled himself out of his bed and onto the floor. I hear a huge thud and see him on the floor and I ask what he’s doing and he starts army crawling to the bathroom telling me he couldn’t walk anymore because his legs were broken. Then that became our routine every morning.
