As a full time live in nanny, the family I was with lived in a home surrounded by woods and sometimes, when all the kids were done with chores and school for the day, we would put on our boots and go trek trough the woods to a pond on the property and we’d play games and catch frogs and try to name all the plants and wildlife we could see and then if there was something we didn’t recognize, we’d go home and learn about it afterwards. It was a wholesome way of bonding and widening our minds. And the kids got to be themselves in those moments, and seeing the spark and excitement in their eyes was something I absolutely lived for.
