More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

My volunteer work with children includes the softball camp my team and I used to organize. An all day event where us players teach younger children all the best techniques and basics of softball, I did this until I graduated high school. Along with this, I have been a part time nanny for several families. I also have 5 siblings and helped out a lot raising them due to my mothers demanding job. My infant skills are from my sister, she had two babies very young and I always took on the baby sitter position while she worked her night time job every night.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

In the past I’ve done drawing/coloring, reading, dress up, and other games with children inside. This includes movies and tv as well. When the weather was nice I’d take the kids out to do stuff sometimes. This included taking them swimming at a life guarded pool, the park, dog walking (or just a walk if no pets).

The most important part about being a nanny...

Nurturing the child; being able to connect on a deep level, build a safe, loving relationship and offer a stable environment.

My experience with special needs children...

My longest nanny position was with a child with dwarfism. She had to be on a feeding tube and it was always a handful, but she was hands down one of the most wonderful children I’ve worked with and I pray she only sees sunshine and positivity in her life because her differences make her shine brighter. Along with this I do have some little background into the medical field due to school so I understand some other special needs care. Special needs does not affect my wants to care for said child!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I’d have to say the most memorable nanny moment I had was when I first started with a family a couple years ago. It was my first night putting the kids to bed and I did as the mother told me “put them to bed and check on them 30 minutes later I promise they’ll be sleeping” as I went to check on them, the two girls were no longer in bed, but in the bathroom. Mind you they were still in diapers, so I knew they were up to no good. As I walked into the bathroom the older child was pooping into the trash can in the bathroom. I just have to say, it was definitely a first and definitely my funniest nanny experience to this day.
