More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have volunteered as a Court Appointed Special Advocate in King County (Washington state). As a court-appointed special advocate and guardian ad litem, I advocated for children who experienced abuse and/or neglect. Collaborated with child welfare professionals, educators, and service providers to ensure judges received accurate information for informed decisions. Responsibilities included reviewing case histories, conducting interviews and visits with involved parties, making court recommendations, and monitoring cases to ensure compliance with court orders and the child's well-being.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

range from the quietly creative to the wonderfully chaotic!

I love sparking imagination through arts and crafts whether that's painting, making collages, or building something out of cardboard and tape that somehow becomes a spaceship. Dialogic reading is another favorite, everything can be made into a learning experience! Love board games.

Outside...the possibilities are endless. Baking simple things together: pancakes, cookies, muffins, banana bread, homemade pizza.

The most important part about being a nanny...

is building genuine trust with both the children and their parents. Everything else... the schedules, the activities, the meals, flows from that foundation. Children need to feel safe, and parents need to feel confident leaving their most precious people in my care. That trust is earned through consistency, honesty, and showing up fully, every single day.

My experience with special needs children...

With my background in Early Care and Education, I bring both the patience and adaptability to quickly understand each child's unique needs. While I don't claim to be an expert, I have meaningful experience working with children with a range of developmental differences and I take time to understand each child's communication style, triggers, and the routines that help them feel secure.
