More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I refereed soccer for 10years, I was in charge of making sure kids ranging from 4years old to 19years old had fun, but also played safely and competitively. I played for 14years myself. I learned a lot on how to deal with speaking to kids and seeing how different aged children respond to rules they may not understand. Watching teenagers respond to not getting what the want, depending on what call was made, while at the same time being either slightly younger or older than them was an interesting experience, helped me learn how to stick up for my self or treat someone with care, depending on the age.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Walking, going to the park, teaching them games, reading books from when I was younger or new books to help foster a love for adventure even if it’s just in a book, swimming, going to museums, etc. I’m pretty adventurous while nannying. When I lived in Cincinnati, OH, when the Women’s World Cup was going on a few years ago I took all 4 of my nanny kids and a double stroller downtown to watch the game at the Banks which is like a street shutdown with restaurants and a park to watch the US women’s team play on the big screen, and of course we got ice cream. We also went to the Reds Parade in 2019, which is a huge thing in Cincinnati!

Letting the kids be kids while also providing structure and guiding them into being the best sort of humans they can be.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I was actually doing a date night for an old nanny family that has turned into a big part of my life. But we were outside and C, who I’ve had since she was 7months old, she was almost 4 at this time, but we were all in the front yard playing and I have a funny video of her and towards the end I asked her well who do you love then, she says mommy and I said well what about daddy, she goes nope, I said not L, H, or L, and she goes nope I said well do you even love me she said yep, and I just laughed and said so only me and mommy she goes yep then started talking about cookies and bacon.
