Hi! My name is Sierra, I am a pre-nursing student at UNR.I have several years of experience working with children of all ages, as well as adults and individuals with special needs. Caring for others isn’t just something I do, it’s something I’m truly passionate about.

I’ve worked as a swim instructor, teaching babies, children, adults, and individuals with special needs. This has helped me develop strong patience, communication skills, and the ability to adapt to each person’s unique needs. I’ve also helped manage a family-owned playplace business and co-ran summer camps with my sister, where I planned activities and created a fun, safe, and engaging environment for kids.

Outside of childcare, I have a big passion for horses. I have one of my own named Jet! Through working at summer camps and volunteering at an adaptive riding center, I’ve taught children about nature and horsemanship while also supporting individuals with special needs through horse-assisted therapy.

I love being outdoors and playing with children, whether it’s riding horses, exploring nature, or just running around outside. I also enjoy crafting and bringing creative projects to life—thanks to my years at summer camp, I know lots of fun crafts. I love playing board games and using imagination play to make games and stories come alive, encouraging kids to be creative and have fun.

I have hands-on experience supporting children with special needs through a variety of activities. I volunteered at a horse adaptive riding center, assisting individuals with disabilities in horse therapy and riding, helping them build confidence, coordination, and independence. Additionally, as a swim instructor, I taught children with special needs, guiding them to achieve personal goals and earn progression ribbons, fostering both skill development and self-esteem. I am passionate about creating supportive, fun, and safe environments where every child can thrive.
