A little bit about me

After nannying professionally for just over four years, I accepted a job in emergency services and spent the past seven years working in that field. I am now looking to add a little bit more joy into my life again, and what better way to do that than to work as a nanny? Between my personal and professional lives, I have been taking care of children for two decades now. I am experienced with all age groups, from infants to adolescents and have experience with multiples and some special needs.

The majority of my childcare experience comes from family and close friends; I am the youngest of nine children, and as a result of that have been an aunt since before I was even born. I have twenty nieces and nephews as well as six great nieces and nephews. I babysit several of them frequently, and their parents are happy to provide a glowing recommendation.

My experience with special needs children...

One of my nephews has Down syndrome which has given me seventeen years of experience working with special needs. I also have some experience working with children with ADHD and autism.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My first favorite nanny moment was when the fifteen month old little girl (whom I’d been caring for since she was seven months old) finally learned how to say my name - her mom had been working on teaching it to her and sent me a video on one of my off days of it finally clicking. It was definitely a moment that made me feel like I was part of the family.

My second favorite nanny moment was when I caught a three month old baby’s first real smile on camera - her parents had that photo framed for her nursery and it made me smile every time I saw it.
