I worked at a summer camp for all people of all ages that have disabilities, so I am also able to work with children that have disabilities.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy spending time with children in general, so whatever their hobbies and interests are, they are also mine. I like to be active and play recreational sports; I like to dance, I like to watch new movies, and I really enjoy arts and crafts.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny to me is always safety first. But of course that is closely followed by having fun, making good memories, and having a good relationship with the child.
My experience with special needs children...
I worked with children with special needs for about two months. It was a summer camp, so I was only their camp counselor for one week at a time, but I gained lots of valuable experience. I was their full-time caretaker for the week, so this included medications, PC, and staying up throughout the night if needed. The disabilities ranged from everything to Cerebral Palsy to being on the spectrum or having ADHD. I also just completed a summer working at a daycare for children 2-5 years of age. I was the lead teacher in the 3-4-year-old class and spent the day teaching and watching over the kids.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite moment as a daycare teacher was my very last day when all the kids ran up to me and gave me a big hug with gifts they made me.
