A little bit about me

My name is Sonia Johnson. I am a retired educator/administrator with over 28 years experience working elementary aged children in some capacity. I am married and have 1 daughter, a ninth grader. Right now I am substituting and I love it, but I have always wanted to be a nanny. My aunt is a retired nurse and I have been talking to her about my desire to become a nanny. Her advice to me was to go for it and that she knows that I would be a great addition to a family in need of care for their children while they work. When my daughter was younger, I would take her outside and we would play; I would me games for her to help her learn school content, I would sing and read to her---honestly I miss that. I am very organized, follow directives, and have a passion for seeing children grow and thrive. I was CPR certified and I am willing to go and get recertified. I am looking forward to beginning my new career as a nanny.

I was an elementary school teacher for 10 years; 18 additional years all in education -interaction with children in some capacity. I worked after school programs for children in K-6th grades for 10+ years; I work during the summer in a daycare in Florence(working with children aged 3 to 11) supervising day trips, and driving the daycare van.
