The most important part about being a nanny...
Is to be kind.

Kindness, listening to children, being warm and loving, all while being firm, teaching manners, life skills, gratitude, and joy.

The most important part about being a nanny...
We were reading the school edition of the Martian by Andy Weir and doing hands-on activities related to the book. We grew potatoes in the classroom and harvested and prepared them with ketchup just like Mark Watney. It was a mixed age group and one of the younger kids was reluctant to try something that we just pulled up out of the soil. He did try a small potato and exclaimed excitedly: "I like these potatoes! They taste just like the inside of French fries!" That comment made my day!
