A little bit about me

My name is Sophie. I grew up in the country with two sisters, one older and one younger. Growing up I was a 3+ sport athlete. When I wasn’t playing sports, I spent majority of my time playing outside with my sisters or friends. We built forts in the woods, played restaurant and school in our play house, biking, roller blading, built roads with chalk for our scooters, the list is endless. My hobbies now still revolve heavily around the outdoors. I love to hunt, fish, hike, ride horses, four wheeling, snowmobiling, canoeing/ kayaking, camping, etc. I love playing cards/ games, adventurous activities, trying new things, and exploring new places. My dream is to care for children and help them grow in as many positive ways as possible. I love children, enjoy their company, find joy playing with them, and take pride in caring for them. I am an energetic, upbeat, slow to anger, positive person, who always has a smile on my face. I enjoy staying busy and finding fun activities to do.

Babysat for 8 years. Was a nanny for 3 children (twin boys and a younger girl) for one summer in high school, and 1 infant for a summer between college semesters. Was a vacation bible school counselor and teacher for 4 years.

At home: building forts, board/ card games, arts and crafts, drawing/ coloring, play dough, dress-up/ costumes/ make-believe, sports/ playing catch, baking, biking/ scooters/ rollerblading, chalk, building things/ projects, going for walks, reading books, puzzles, playing with child’s favorite toys, etc. (all depending on age).
Field trips: park, picnic, beach, museum, library, movie theater, arcade, community center, trampoline / adventure park, mini golf, skating, zoo, etc. (all depending on age)

I have a strong passion for caring for children, paying with them, teaching them new things, and helping them to grow in positive ways. I am a very responsible, reliable, positive, high energy, upbeat person, who loves to have fun and create memorable moments. I enjoy staying busy and finding a variety of fun thing to do.
