"I’m the owner of a pediatric therapy clinic, Starr worked as the nanny to one of my patients. In knowing and collaborating with Starr for sessions, she was excellent. She had fantastic rapport with the child and family, and the child absolutely adored Starr. Their relationship was so special to see. Starr went above and beyond to support the development of the child, including facilitating the home PT exercises with the child at home and keeping the child motivated. She went truly beyond just the role of a caretaker, which is so rare to see. She was responsible, attuned to the child’s needs, and dependable. I give my highest recommendation, any family would be lucky to have Starr as the nanny for their child!"

"It is because of Starr that our little one knows his numbers and colors so early. She always had an activity planned and age-appropriate learning ready for Theo! Starr can be counted on to be engaged, on time, and always ready to go above and beyond. Our kids still talk about her, and we very much enjoyed working with her. ◡̈"

"Starr has a great personality. She is articulate, kind, well spoken and humbling. She has this great way of calming a frantic kids down. She introduced new concepts and different outlooks in a situation, be it academic or athletic. She’s respectful and always kept me abreast of what happened throughout the day. She was great with my girls. Too bad they aged out, my words, or else Starr would still be my governess. I prefer that word over nanny. Starr is the best!"

More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
My passion for children and teaching started at a very young age (5 years old playing teacher) I started with my sisters (at 12 years old) which led to me watching my cousins, and by the time I was in high school, I started watching kids in my neighborhood.
After I graduated, I started taking my babysitting more serious and decided to pursue the nanny route. A friend that became a mom started struggling as a single mother and I stepped in; offering to watch her son while she works and goes to school. I started watching him at 6 months and took care of him full-time the first 3 years of his life. We grew closer over the course of me caring for him, by the time he was 1, she asked me to be his Godmother.
Once I stopped watching him full-time, I began to pursue other families. I've cared for babies as young as 6 weeks and children as old as 10. I have experience caring for multiple children at a time as well.
I also love animals so pets aren't an issue either!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Indoor activities I like to enjoy consist of arts & crafts, watching age-appropriate educational or entertaining tv shows/movies (if screen-time is allowed), workbooks, hide and seek, creating my learning board, games, and anything else I come up with!
As far as the outdoors go; I like to take nature walks, run races, go to the playground, blow bubbles, paint, and any other fun games that can be played outside.

The most important part about being a nanny...
Is familles allowing me to come in and be apart of such a wonderful process. Getting to know a curious, new (little) person discover things about life every day because it’s all new to them. No fears, no worries, pure bliss. It’s something about getting able to be a witness their innocence, their growth, them becoming their own person... that is truly beautiful and motivates me to be the best I can be!
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with a lovely little girl who was born premature 2024 to 2025 and she is now flourishing! I’ve learned so much from her therapists (physical, speech, feeding, occupational) and they all say that they can tell I work hard with her at home because of the improvements they’d see during our sessions.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Is when I meet my babies during that "in between time" so I get to spend ours teaching them how to walk and/or talk then we get to show their parents how much they've progressed.

Live-In Part-Time Child Care Provider Available in Brandywine, MD: Skylar S.
Hi! My name is Skylar, and I’m 16 years old with two years of experience working with first graders and kindergarteners at a summer camp. I absolutely love working with kids, and kids naturally connect with me. Parents have trusted me and appreciated my care so much that I’ve stayed in touch with several moms over the years. I’m very motivated, mature, and understanding, and I know how to support children without being too pushy. I’m extremely family-oriented, attentive, and responsible, especially when it comes to important details like food allergies and individual needs. I’m always happy to help with anything and create a safe, fun, and caring environment for kids.
