More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have worked with children for over 11 years. I’ve been a private nanny, a lead teacher in a daycare and a teacher assistant/sub for head start. I have also worked at a high school with teenagers so I have a little bit of experience with all ages. I’ve also worked with kids with autism/adhd. I have my cpr/first aid training and my food handlers as well as my 30 hours of stars training and my ECE short certificate. I’m extremely passionate about working with kids and I am a big animal lover.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love hands on activities, I love spending time outside if the weather permits. I enjoy reading to children, singing songs and teaching them as much as I possibly can, I believe everything can be a teachable moment for a child. But truly what I enjoy most is knowing that the children in my care are comfortable with whatever we are doing I want them to feel safe and cared for.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Caring for children and making them feel safe. Meeting children’s needs and teaching them as much as I can through everyday activities. I want children to have a fair chance at things I’m all about inclusivity as well as respect. I want children in my care to feel respected by me always.
My experience with special needs children...
I have experience working with children with speech delays/problems and with children with autism/adhd. I have also worked with children who have to take medication on a regular basis or have specific health needs (diet related) and I’m comfortable with that.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I babysat for a specific family for 5 years and I grew to love them like family, we would see each other quite often and my favorite thing ever were holidays/birthdays. I loved showing up for those kids, they knew they could count on me and I was present in every important day in their lives for those five years, we grew a very strong bond, I loved that, I cherish those memories so much.
