My name is Stephanie, I have 5 children of my own. I love children and am a loving and caring person. I enjoy being outside and taking the children on adventures. I am good at creating adventures at home too. I am outgoing and am usually smiling and laughing. I love to cook and clean and consider myself to be a domestic goddess. I believe that it is an honor and privilege to get to hang out with kiddos because they have pure hearts and intentions and there is so much to learn from them. Being a nanny has never just been a job, it is a responsibility and one I don't take lightly as I would be helping raise ones children. I am still present for all of the children I have nannied for. I still go to their sports events and support them and they reach out to me often.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Besides having 5 of my own children and my nieces and nephews always being with me, I used to volunteer in my kids’ classrooms full time when they were in grade school. I’ve also done child care at church for years. I used to volunteer at the Sacramento children’s receiving home as well as St. John’s women’s shelter where I did Sunday school for the children. All of my kids’ friends are always at our place.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Playing games, reading, walking, skating, riding bikes, cooking, taking them to the park or the zoo or the aquarium. Having picnics. Nature walks. And so much more.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To me it has been being present and consistent with the children. When I first come they are shy and then as they build a trust with me it’s fun and beautiful watching them open up more and more until they understand that I am a safe place for them to be themselves. Even if it’sa bad mood and a temper tantrum. I love them through that.
Also, I feel that taking lots of pictures and taking notes about cute things that are said or done are important so that mom and dad are but missing out on all the cutesy things. As well as having a great relationship with mom and dad as I am co raising your children. It’s a pretty special job!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I was homeschooling my 5 year old boy that I would nanny for and I was teaching him Spanish on the Rosetta Stone program. He has been struggling and I kept trying different things to help him understand and when he finally got it, I had hugged him and started cheering and celebrating loudly and he got a shy smile (which was rare as he was not shy) and he said you’re so crazy Steph! And he grabbed my face in his tiny hands and looked in my eyes and said I love you Steph! You’re like a second mom to me. And I melted. Best feeling ever. And knowing they can depend on me it’s so special.
