A little bit about me

Hello, my name is Stephanie! I'm a former Kindergarten teacher (4 years) and current nanny/private teacher (7+ years). I have vast experience in caregiving and educating children. I've cared/taught a wide age range of children including newborns to 17 years+. I have a passion for caregiving and teaching. I love painting, playing sports, reading, and traveling. I understand the need for children to be nurtured in a stable and healthy environment while also being able to express themselves and their individuality. I'm very Covid conscious, I've been very lucky and careful to have never had it. I'm also planning to get my vaccine when I meet the requirements.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I taught Kindergarten for 4 years before moving into the private teaching sector.

I've also worked as the lead counselor at an outdoor summer camp. I taught children how to swim, took them on field trips, played sports, created crafts, etc. In my last two years with the camp, I was the Asst. Manager.

Lastly, in high school, I volunteered at a special education center working with children who have physical and/or developmental impairments.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Swimming, park, museums, making crafts, baking/cooking, sports, reading, games (board games, treasure hunts, etc), backyard or rooftop "camping".

My experience with special needs children...

As a teacher, I've had multiple students with different learning needs. Though I don't currently have formal training in Special Ed, I've always been able to adjust the school curriculum to better suit their learning style. As a nanny, I understand the need to be patient and encouraging. It's important to never put down a child with or without learning impairments. Embracing your child/children's differences builds a positive self-image.

I also have past experience volunteering at a special education center. Where I was able to work with and care for primary-aged children.
