I have volunteered at Masonic Children's Hospital, creating fun activities and spaces for children with long-term stays in the hospital. Beyond my nannying experience, I have also worked at an after-school, childcare program. I have experience through my schooling working with autistic youth as well as babysitting opportunities with a young child with Down syndrome.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love both indoor and outdoor activities! I consider myself crafty, and love any sort of activities that require art supplies and creativity. I also love playing games, both boardgame or outside. I enjoy spending time outside walking, playing games, or simply imaginative play. There is hardly an activity that I wouldn't be up to trying or learning from a child and their family!
The most important part about being a nanny...
As an Occupational Therapy student, I have grown to appreciate just how important childhood development, growth, autonomy, and care truly are. I believe a nanny holds an important position not just in being reliable, trustworthy, and family-friendly, but also as a component of influencing positive and intentional care and support for a developing and learning child. Nannying is all about teaching skills, developing relationships, and nurturing childhood growth!

I have worked with an 8-year-old boy with autism and a 3-year-old boy with Down syndrome.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite moments while working with a 3-year-old with Down syndrome was after a few times seeing him; his excitement to see me as he finally recognized who I was. He had helped his mom color a holiday card for me and could not have been more excited to hand it to me when I arrived. Creating that trustworthy and fun relationship with a child, and observing the moment when you become a true part of their lives is so fulfilling!

I am great with kids and am very responsible and mature for my age. I clean and know how to cook and safely use microwaves ovens etc. I got an A in the babysitting unit. I also have a practice with my cousin from when he was a baby to now (five). I am great with all pets and have some of my own I can work Sunday Monday Thursday and Friday on those weekdays after three. I’m also 12 however I have two older sisters (15) both of them who have taken me to their babysitting jobs allowing me to observe and interact. I do not bring anyone over or with me without consent from the guardian. I follow the rules and schedule well making sure my time with them is enjoyable. I’m great under stress and pressure learned what to do in all emergency situations. I also will not cancel without a 24 hour notice.
