I have no extensive experience with special needs children, however I currently work with a child who is seeking therapy for an ASD diagnosis. As well as that, I personally have ADD, and definitely have experience with neurodivergency.

I am always trying to catch my breath laughing with the kids but besides the goofiness, I think there is a lot of importance in instilling emotionally intelligent qualities in kids who are growing up in an ever changing world that will continue to grow. So, I was ecstatic when my six year old( who melts down frequently and struggles with this specifically), took a moment amidst his dis regulation to practice deep breathing and followed with an apology then, communicated his needs calmly!
