Hi! My name is Tamaiya McCreary, and I am a sophomore nursing major attending Morgan State University. I take pride in my academic achievements, as school is important to me. My biggest aspirations in life are to become a labor and delivery nurse, as well as a mother. Since a young age, I have been admired for my instant connection and patience with children, specifically babies and toddlers. I am currently 20 years old, turning 21 years old in September. I am blessed to have much patience and attentiveness towards children, as I have taken care of my younger sibling. I am pleased to have the opportunity to work with all families and children, as the job requires and instills trust. Often at family or public gatherings, I am entrusted with the care of the children around me, and it brings me a sense of joy. To me, the most important part about being a nanny is trust. I feel that it's important for trust to be instilled within both sides, nanny and family. I feel that patience is a close second, being that it takes a lot of patience to work with and care for children.

My experience with special needs children...

I have a brother who is on the Autism spectrum. I have learned that patience is key with special needs children, as well as extreme attentiveness. As my brother continues to grow and I continue to look after him, I realize that all special needs children are unique in their own way, and need to feel comfortable in their environment. I continue to grow my patience for him, as any other child who may have special needs.
