More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I worked in Texas as a team lead caring for mentally disabled adults, I have cared for children in India, in Italy as well as the United States. I have also been a C.N.A. I have much experience caring for infants all the way up to the elderly. And then of course my own 10 lovely children and grandchildren. I can provide references upon request.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I’m very much into crafts and can teach children some of these things, I enjoy reading to them as well as story telling. I can also help out with school work or teach them board games/card games that can help them learn, such as flash cards.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a care giver for anyone, to me is that they are completely safe, all of theyre mental, physical and emotional needs are met and they receive understanding and compassion. It’s very rewarding for me when I know I’ve not only helped but see their happiness as well. I like to stay positive and bring smiles. This to me is always very rewarding.
My experience with special needs children...
I have experience caring for mentally disabled adults as well as caring for physically disabled children, three of which were my own children. My three handicapped children were born with physical disabilities that required constant care and supervision.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was when I had volunteered at a local school as a teachers aide and they had me caring for the children they considered disruptive, and I was to do my best at helping them stay focused. We did a great job together and I knew I’d miss them when school ended for the year. On my last day, the children came into the auditorium and sang to me three songs, they told me they loved me and would miss me. We hugged and cried. I told them I would miss them too and I also loved them. I still think about them and it’s been many years now. I did run into one of them about 10 years ago now and he came up and told me who he was and was so happy to see me. I was amazed that he recognized me let alone remembered me. We talked for a long time and hugged goodbye, every once awhile I hear from him. This made me feel so good that I could make such an impression as to be remembered years and years later. I do my best with everyone I care for, to leave that lasting good impression.

Babysitter Available in Kirksville, MO: Julia T.
Hi there, I'm Julia! I've been working with children since I was a Sunday school assistant and camp counselor as a teenager. Over time I have become more comfortable caring for younger children and babies. I have some experience as a doula as well and enjoy helping families through pregnancy and postpartum, especially as a mother's helper. I'm a skilled cook and housekeeper as well, and enjoy involving children in these tasks. I'm very outdoorsy and enjoy facilitating "forest school" activities . I'll be relocating to the La Plata/Kirksville area in November and am looking for opportunities ahead of time, for families needing assistance beginning this holiday season.

Hi, my name is Destiny. I grew up around lots of different kids. So I got to know about a lot of different people. My mom was usually not able to take care of me and my brothers that well so I would have to take care of my two younger brothers. I would have to teach my younger brother everything for school make sure they were dressed and ready and even feeding them sometimes. I also helped take care of my friends kid that was 3. Yes, this is the only experience I have. It was not paid but I do feel like I’m qualified. If you are interested or have any questions feel free to contact me.

Babysitter Available in Kirksville, MO: Ashton F.
Hi families!
My name is Ashton Freiner, and my husband and I recently moved to Kirksville so that he can start school at ATSU and I am looking for babysitting/nannying jobs in the Kirksville area!
I have over 10 years of experience caring for children from newborns to 13 years of age, and I truly love working with kids. I've worked with children in various settings, including church nurseries, VBS, kids camps, and as an in-home babysitter. I’m passionate about keeping little ones active and engaged, whether we’re playing outside, doing crafts, or reading together. I was also a lifeguard at both my city pool and MizzouRec for 4 years, so I’m well trained in CPR, choking response, and water safety.
I’m happy to help with meal prep, cleaning up after meals and activities, and keeping play areas tidy. I’m also a big dog lover, so furry family members are a plus (and I’m also very open to dog/housesitting)!
