Before I became a nanny, I was a daycare teacher. I taught preschool and prekindergarten. I taught kids how to read, write, tell time and math. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked at a daycare in Washington State.
I taught preschool and prekindergarten. I taught kids how to read, write, tell time, math, and do arts and crafts. And I also have taught kids ASL. Learning and education is important to me.
And I also took care of children at Seattle Children's Hospital for 11 years and a camp that Seattle Children's Hospital has for disabled kids, for 10 years. It's called.
Stanley Stamm Camp. It's a free camp for all disabled children. I love to see kids enjoying life and having fun with friends and learning new things.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to do a lot of activities, from playing outside and doing arts and crafts. The best thing I love to do with the kids. Was at the daycare and at Seattle Children's Hospital camp we would make up a fun talent show and at the end of the week we would share it with their families. I love to see the children using their imagination on something that is fun and enjoyable.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Interacting with the kids is the best way of communicating with each other.
Playing but also learning new things, is what I love to do with kids. You want to teach them as much as you can. The importance of me being a nanny is to be there for them always.
I am there to guide, teach and care for them.

My experience with special needs children...

It's quite hard, not going to lie. At the camp we had 4 counselors in each cabin, that had 6 kids to take care of. Because it was hard work. We had different kinds of disabled and special need kids that needed constant supervision. It was one week of camp in the summer. But it was 24/7 care, very long days, always on the go with them, no sleep, not eating well. I stopped going to the camp, after I started my nanny job, because it was getting to hard for me.
So I don't think I could handle a special needs child right now.
But I will always love all children, they're a blessing to me.
