Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have younger cousins in Paris who I babysit when I’m there for summer. I babysit family friends kids whenever they are in need, as well with children in my building. I also work with the younger kids in my school, helping them with homework and even teaching them how to read, speak, play appropriately and just get them to be social. As for cooking and cleaning I have been doing ever since I can remember and love doing both.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Drawing and painting, playing dress up and role play with girls (my little cousins loves that) I also love teaching kids stuff and finding ways to spark there interest in possible hobbies or activities for the future. I enjoy cooking with kids and also bringing them places around New York City, there is so much to do here for kids, such as museums, parks, the lego or doll stores, interactive drawing studios… ETC.
The most important part about being a nanny...
This took place in a small town in the northern part of France. I had brought my little cousin who was around 5 at the time to the park. No kids had wanted to play with her so instead of just watching her I went to play with her. The second we started to play on the swings and all the kids around heard my American accent when talking to my cousin, their heads snapped in awe and immediately they all came to watch the cool older American girl. This ended up getting my little cousin many new friends and I wasn’t even needed to play with her anymore (as she was so infatuated by her friends.) When I was walking her back home she had the biggest smile and I was so over joyed one of my own insecurities (my American accent) actually gained her a happy, memorable experience.
