A little bit about me

I’m Tess, I am CPR and First Aide certified. I come with references and several years of experience. I have a background in assisted living facilities as well, caretaking for elderly. I have 2 daughters of my own (pictured). We have 2 small dogs, 2 kitties and enjoy feeding the community birds.
We like to be outside a lot, do arts and crafts, read, play games, use play dough, sand, chalk and clay. We love to swim at our community pool when the weather permits. We do occasionally watch movies depending on weather for the day.
I enjoy more of a Montessori style learning environment for the children in my care, with the exception that we do try to work based on an ideal schedule. Nap time, eating, etc. as I’ve learned this helps with regulation of emotions and ability to learn and play better.
My family loves and cares for each individual child that has come into our home and we still have relationships with those who have gone on to daycare or school.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I initially started to enjoy the field when I was a Special needs assistant in high school, I then went to work in the commonwealth for children and adolescents facility caring for kids with behavioral issues. I started to nanny on my own when my oldest daughter was young and came back to it when my second daughter was born.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Going to the field in my community, sidewalk chalk, coloring, reading, crafts, baking, finger painting, scavenger hunts, building things, making crafts for parents, dress up parties and playing different type of games.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Communication and clear boundaries with families. But more importantly to myself is making sure that your child feels safe, loved, happy and secure in my care. My family treats every little being that comes into our home, just like they are a part of our family. We ensure they have an environment where they can flourish and thrive just like they would at home with you

Minimal experience, however I do have some from working as an assistant in high school and for a private group home

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment(s) would be watching infants meet their milestones. Seeing the look on their faces, their smiles and happiness. Helping to build confidence within themselves and support them to continue their learning
