When I turned 15 I began working as a nanny for other large families I knew. I did this until I left for college where I'm studying to be a child therapist. Over the summer I worked as a camp counselor in CO for Colorado Mountain Ranch. It was one of the best experiences I've had. I am now working at an elementary school as an after school aid through the YMCA. I love caring for kids and getting to explore the creative imagination they have.

I love any way we can get off the screens, my favorite is just playing any game the kids feel inclined to do. Whether it's playing with barbies or cars or building a fairy house with sticks. Finding activities the kid will enjoy doesn't have to be expensive. It could be a scavenger hunt or Simon says. Play and imagination are so important for children's development.

How the child feels. It is so so important to make sure the kid feels safe with the environment you created as a nanny. And to respect the parents choice on how they raise their child. There should be no judgment within this.
