A little bit about me

Hi there! I am looking for a 20-35 hour week position for the summer before going back to college in mid-August and then an occasional evenings and weekends position once I start my classes in the fall. I will be graduating with a BS in Elementary Education from the College of Charleston in May 2026 and am the President of the School of Education Ambassadors at the university. My childcare expertise is in children over the age of 5 but I am experienced with children between 6 weeks and 11 years in age. I love furry friends and have a few of my own, and I enjoy going on adventures both big and small!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

As a young teenager, I have volunteered to care for children in my church nursery and I have babysat children on and off. As an adult, I have been a daycare teacher for children 6 weeks to 11 years in age since June 2024. In this position, I have been responsible for meal prep and feeding, bathroom needs and diaper changes, leading arts and crafts activities, supervising free play, teaching themed lessons, and much more! In addition, I have also provided regularly scheduled tutoring services to my peers at my university in a variety of subjects during the 2023 to 2024 school year. I have taught a few lessons in multiple subjects at a local middle school for one of my student teaching experiences as well.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy leading interactive activities with the children I am caring for such as arts and crafts and games involving physical activity. I am more than happy to go on adventures to the park, pool, beach, mall, etc as well! In addition, turning household chores and clean up times into a game is something that I have been especially successful with while being a daycare teacher. I also love to take advantage of any teachable moment that I can to allow the children I care for to learn more about the world around them!

The most important part about caring for children is their well-being and giving them chances to express themselves in various ways. This could be through creativity or other elements!

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moment while working in child care was when a ladybug landed on the table the children and I were gathered at. They were all very fascinated and wanted to learn more about the little ladybug, so I turned this moment into an opportunity to teach them about insects and the belief of how wishing on a ladybug is good luck! All of the children gathered at the table then spoke their wishes out loud to the ladybug before it flew away to carry the wishes with it!
