The most important part about being a nanny...
For me personally, being a nanny is about the emotional, physical, and mental wellbeing of the children in my care. I want to help them grow into themselves while fostering important values of compassion, kindness, patience, and listening, while letting them enjoy and savor their childhood. It's important to keep careful watch over the children in a nanny's care, but equally important to let them test their strengths, and try new things (carefully!). I'm always looking for opportunities to show a child how much fun the world is, and to listen and learn from them!
My experience with special needs children...
I have basic experience with special needs children acting as a one-on-one aide at a sleep-away summer camp, but am willing to learn the more intricate ins and outs!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Teaching the youngest of three boys that instead of "please", the magic word was "Tobi's awesome!". He still uses it to this day!
