occurred when the child was disciplined by losing freeplay time with friend at recess and had to stay close to me for a set time (holding my hand). The child ran to me to grab my hand with a grin on his face. I realized that despite the loss of some play time, he enjoyed spending time with me such that it did not feel like punishment. I had to create new redirection techniques eliciting the desired response/change instead.
