More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have worked for Headstart in my local hometown as well as nannied for families part time and date nights (newborn experience included). My role as a Teacher's Aide was to help The Lead and Assistant Teacher in lesson planning, circle time, weekly art projects, sweeping and washing down tables, assisting children in self serving their meals, bus monitor and other responsibilities around the classroom.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

We tend to think outside the box when the weather's not so nice to take the kiddos outside to play. On occasion I would be in charge of setting up an obstacle course in the large motor room. Some examples of outside activities that our Headstart staff would provide for the children are bike riding, hop scotch, tag, duck duck goose, chalk drawing and using the fenced in playground.

The most important part about being a nanny...

It's important to me that each child knows how loved, accepted and safe they are in my presence. I make it a priority to have open communication with the parents so I know what their expectations are and how I can provide the best kind of care for their child/children.

My experience with special needs children...

I would say that I have a decent amount of experience handling behavioral tendencies with children who have more challenges in life. Because I am so compassionate and empathetic, most young children seek my attention when struggling with intense emotions or miscommunication with another child.
