Hi there families! I'm a widow of 8 yrs with 3 adult children and a MiMi to 1 grandbaby girl who is 4.
I was an assistant to my mom's home daycare for 3 years when my son was a baby.
I've been a Georgia native for almost 2 years, also employed with a Daycare/Pre-K school of which I'm an after-school teacher and an "Angel in Disguise" as the parents call me. 😊
I love working with children and take pride in creating a happy, safe, and engaging environment where they can learn, play, and feel supported. I'm dependable, patient, and committed to treating every child with kindness and care.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

My mom had an in home daycare where I was her assistant for 3 years until I relocated. My son was a newborn at the time and he is now 31. She recently passed 7 months ago.
I've also been employed part-time at a Daycare/Pre-K school here in Ga. for the past 1 1/2 years since relocating here with ages ranging from newborn to 9yrs.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Indoor and Outdoor- Drawing, coloring, reading, writing, making projects, matching bingo, sensory games, building legos/magnets, arts and crafts, scavenger hunts, freeze dance and tag, yoga-I believe in a good breathing and relaxing exercise, play doh, pretend kitchen, picnics, soccer, catch, water play, sidewalk chalk, hopscotch, basketball, cone course, bubbles, splash pad, playground, kites, paper airplanes, plants, bikes with protection gear and I let my littles come up with ideas as well.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Creating a safe, loving, and supportive environment where children feel happy, secure, and to be themselves. I believe in building trusting relationships with both the children and their parents through open communication, reliability, and consistency.
I enjoy helping children learn and grow by planning fun, engaging activities that support their development while also helping them become independent and confidence. Every child is unique in their own way and I strive to understand their individual needs, interests, and personalities so I can provide the best care possible.
Above anything, I want to be a positive, dependable presence in a child's life and contribute to their well-being, growth, and happiness every day.

My experience with special needs children...

Autistic. Some with and without sensory issues. I include them in group activities if I see them alone because I don't like to see children by themselves and they ey enjoy the interaction with other children. If they are comfortable with alone time, I value that as well and sometimes work one on one when the other children are engaged in an activity. If the volume level gets too loud because of excitement, they will put on headphones for comfort while I ask everyone to use their "inside voices".

The most important part about being a nanny...

They all made birthday cards for my 56th birthday this year out of construction paper and markers and wanted me to read them as soon as they finished. I was off the next day and explained I wanted to read all special 25 cards the following day on my birthday. When I say my daughter and I laughed and cried at how sweet and precious these cards were, they meant the WORLD to me! At that point I didn't see misspelled words-although there were many lol. I saw nothing but pure LOVE written how they express their feelings. Oh and the fact they reminded me I was 56 with a big 56 in the middle. 😁
