A little bit about me

Hello! Nice to meet you! I am a rising senior at Penn State UP studying for my B.F.A. Acting degree! I have recently just returned from a semester studying abroad in London. I've learned so much about people, myself, and our world during my travels. For the past two summers I worked as a camp counselor at my K-12 alma mater; caring for children ages 4-10. In my personal life, I am extremely comfortable around children. I am the youngest of 45 grandchildren. So growing up there was always a baby to be held or a toddler to entertain! I am a nurturer in most of my friendships, caring for people gives me joy. If I could make it my goal to let every person in the world who may ever doubt themselves know they are never alone, I would! All children deserve their own cheerleader as they grow and learn. I bake, cook, clean, sing, crochet, roller skate, attempt to ice skate, and love exploring! I am also First Aid, CPR, and Stop the Bleed certified!

My experience with special needs children...

I grew up around special need adults and the most important takeaway is every human is different. Every human has their unique access needs. And that for a children, a big part of that is giving the space and grace to discover those for themselves. And to be there to help them. I took an Intro to Disability Culture class two semesters ago, and learned so much about my own biases and what accessible spaces do and do not look like! So while my experience is little, I have the knowledge to learn and try my best!

The most important part about being a nanny...

My last day before heading back to school, the two toddlers I watching spent nearly 15 minutes sliding and racing each other down the steps. When they would reach the bottom I would catch them and yell "gotcha"! In that moment, their joy and laughter is all that mattered.
