Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I am a volunteer with DGAP my community child/senior support agency,. The Carver Family YMCA at which I am a Red-Triangle member & a member of the YMCA for 32 years. A volunteer of the Atlanta-Fulton Public Library. A Servant-Leader who lives to serve with a humble heart which allows me to gently lead others. I gladly serve my fellow man each day. As a single mother of three. Two daughters & one son. The younger two home-schooled after realizing they had missed several educational building blocks while at APS. The eldest, a Credentialing Specialist for a major medical provider in addition to being a supervisor as a Security Officer at SCAD. Her sister a Grocery Team Lead at Publix while furthering her education. My son 20 years, was hired permanently at Best Buy after his sales metrics for the holiday season. While at GSU. Helped raise three nephews, five God children of a deceased friend, my mentors grandchildren & now God-mother to her eldest daughters five children. Also a Driver

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I prefer at-home indoor activities. Although places like FernBank, the Science museum, planetarium, Aquarium, the Zoo or any regulated indoor play is awesome! I don’t like play places as they are often ripe with germs i.e, Rotavirus. Healthy children, healthy home. I enjoy EVERYTHING outdoors prior to a 3:00 pm sun.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Helping to cultivate happy healthy children and families. To help relieve parents of some of the stress involved and allow them to add a few of my lifetime of parenting tools to their toolbox.

My experience with special needs children...

I worked with United Cerebral Palsy as a freshman responsible for mangling case files and supporting case managers for 730 children in the Babies Can’t Wait program. Growing grandmother, mother and father worked with special needs children at BrookRun ( formerly known as GRC) My grandmother was allowed to bring her patients home at times and vI spent summers and school holidays there. I have never physically cared for a soecial needs child, I have, however taken care of several family members whom required 24- hour non-ambulatory urgent and non-urgent care.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One spring birthday, I went to visit my now 5 yr old youngest God-daughter only to walk in the door to find her dressed exactly like me. Her mother and aunt are the polar opposites of me as Millennials while myself, the Gen-Xer, has a more calm and keen sense of style. To be greeted by a 5 yr old in khaki’s and basic shirt front tied with a cardigan is something I will never forget. I told her she looked beautiful to which she abruptly replied with our signature thumb’s up.
