A little bit about me

Hello Parent(s), my name is Tyra. Currently I am employed at a senior assisted living facility and work in memory care. I am CPR and First Aid certified as required by my current employer. Before I even started with babysitting services, at large family gatherings, I always wanted to help out with the younger ones. I have worked with children of all ages and backgrounds.

The biggest job I have had yet, was when I traveled with a family to another country for a week.

I attended high school abroad at an international school in the Netherlands, where students were from all over the world attended. There were roughly sixty different nationalities were represented. This has helped me develop communication skills with people and children with unique backgrounds and circumstances.

Usually on Tuesday or Thursday evenings I will babysit my cousin’s two children (ages 9 and 5)

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

My mother used to have a day care in our home, while I was growing up. After school everyday, I would get home and help out with the children. I also have a very big family (my mother has 35 first cousins) and there is always a young child or infant at family events that I always take care of.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy playing sports, teaching games, playing all sorts of games, art and crafts, etc. I can be rather flexible about any activity

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think being a nanny is more than just watching a kid for a couple of hours. I think that you have to genuinely care about children and the children you are watching

My experience with special needs children...

I do not have much experience with special needs children. Although, this does not mean that I am not willing to work with special needs children.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I watched one boy many times over the course of his entire life. He always enjoyed my presence but he is extremely attached to his mother. He knew, even from a really young age, that me being at his house, meant that his mother would be leaving, which would upset him greatly. My favourite nanny moment, was after spending a lot of time and effect, getting him to enjoy the times when I'd come over to watch him.
