A little bit about me

I am mother to one grown son and grandmother to three. I am a Montana native, age 59.
I would be interested in a live in position as long as there were clear boundaries as to availability, as I have some commitments, mainly to my church. Other than those couple of times a week, I am pretty flexible, including evenings. I am totally open to infant care, in fact, my ideal situation would be to care for one infant rather than multiple children, mainly due to my age and struggles with multitasking since a life threatening mold exposure.
I love to read and encourage that with children, like to cook, and would be open to light housekeeping, perhaps living on site and preparing your home if you are only here part time. I am open to occasional care needs as well.
I am not currently certified for CPR and first aid but have had that training in the past. I worked at a preschool along with many babysitting and nanny type jobs. Clean background.

I worked at a preschool for a year, and have cared for children many times since I was a teenager. To be able to stay at home when my son was small, I cared for children in my home.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I like to read, cook, go outside, and play music with them. Anything that piques their interest fascinates me as they learn about the world. I don't baby talk or talk down to children and believe they are learning so much long before they can express it.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Children are our future. I love to get to introduce them to the world and see everything through their eyes. Even as adults, we don't know what we don't know. I care deeply about protecting them and what is allowed into their minds.

My experience with special needs children...

I cared for a boy who had leukemia and another with Celiacs disease. I try to pay attention to children and adults with obvious special needs as well, because I think they are often overlooked, I think usually that is out of our own discomfort.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Not so much a single moment, but it was heartwarming to see my son, an only child, bond with a little boy I was caring for whose older brother had to be gone to undergo cancer treatment. They came to consider each other brothers.
