Throughout adolescence—entertained and sporadically aided in the care of infants and toddlers at church as well as infant and toddler cousins
Summer 2022—LIT at Camp Gravatt: paid half-month experience where I learned how to interact with children of various ages/backgrounds/etc., especially and specifically in the camp setting, through doing; specifically spent half of time working with female children ages 5-7
Summer 2023—Junior Counselor and Work Crew Member at Camp Gravatt: helped with different facets of the camp experience; interacted with children ages 5-15. As the Junior Counselor of 7 female children ages 10 and 11 for a weeklong session, I spent most waking hours with the campers doing and helping with a multitude of tasks, including helping with meals and allergens, performing basic first aid, entertaining, ensuring adherence to camp safety regulations, etc.
All prior experiences were unpaid or paid in service hours.

Bracelet making; going to the zoo; playing games like Catch and Tag outside; dance parties; reading aloud (especially at the library); playing with figurines/dolls

Making sure kids are (1) safe and (2) feeling invested in/cared about so that they enjoy childhood while it happens and never forget their worth
My experience with special needs children...
My experience is, unfortunately, too minimal at the moment for me to feel like I am the best choice for such a position
