A little bit about me

Hi! I’m Vanessa. Working and caring for children has always been my passion. My best qualities as a nanny include: Patient, Communicative, Caring, Observant, Creative and Open minded.

I love nature! I enjoy hiking, games, spending time with the people I love and exploring.

Some of my favorite things to do with the kids are crafts, reading, singing/dancing, pretend play, baking, anything outdoors such as sports or going for a walk, and sensory activities. Id say I lean towards the Montessori methods but of course every family is different and I am willing to do what you prefer!

Ive been working with children *professionally* for about 4 years now. It’s important to me to develop a relationship with the child and not just be the nanny but a friend and someone they can confide in. I am COVID cautious and have been fully vaccinated.

"Vanessa is a super hard worker. We used to babysit together all the time and she was always all in, taking care of the kids, and if I ever needed help before I could even ask she was walking over. Amazing employee as well as a very kind and patient person with kids. "

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I am currently nannying for a family that I have been with for almost a year, but in March they won’t need me anymore! The kids are now 2 and almost 5.

Previously I worked in a licensed childcare facility for a year, working with all age groups occasionally but I was primarily the 3’s teacher and with infants often.

Prior to that I worked in a church daycare with children ages ranging from 2-4.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy being outside of weather permits. Outdoor activities such as sports, walks, outside games, going to the pool in the summer, or just painting or eating a snack outside when it feels nice.

Indoor activities such as painting, dress up, crafts, dancing, singing, lots of hands on and sensory play, reading and teaching.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think it’s very important in raising children right and teaching them to be kind as they are going to be our next generation. Show them love and compassion and teach them the important things in life and setting them up for success. It’s also very important to me to be as patient as I can with children and teach them right from wrong at an early age and grow with them and be very interactive and give them as much love as possible!

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience with working with a few children with autism, aged 3 and 4.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment, there are tons! Like when I arrive to see the children and they open the door elated to see me, it brightens my day immediately, or when I need to pat a child to sleep and they fall asleep on me looking so cute and peaceful!

I love it when my nanny kids make me little crafts/gifts so I can go home and hang it on my fridge or display it on a shelf. Kids are hilarious too so there’s lots of laughs!

When working with babies, my favorite thing is when they wrap their little fingers around mine, or when they give you the biggest toothless smile!

Overall I cherish all moments with the kids, even the not so pretty moments, because kids are constantly learning things and there’s always opportunity to teach, and help them grow.

Katherine W. - Seeking Work in Raleigh

Part-Time Nanny Available in Raleigh, NC: Katherine W.

About my family: I have a 3 month old named Elizabeth. My partner is a retired MLB player & is currently an artist/designer. My dog, Gunner, is 7 years old & well behaved. My degree is in psychology with a focus in child development from High Point University. Since graduating, I have worked in sales for marketing and software companies. I have experience as a nanny & also have worked with children with autism. I have always had a passion for working with children & am eager to begin my life as a care taker for children. I would provide your child(ren) with care along with my 3 month old daughter. I have a Scandinavian style of care taking: I place emphasis on outdoor exploring, independent play, and gentle discipline to develop confidence & brain stimulation without compromising safety. My discipline style isn’t through punishment, it’s about positive reinforcement. Outdoor & creative play are key to keeping a child stimulated.
Lynn F. - Seeking Work in Raleigh

Full-Time Nanny Available in Raleigh, NC: Lynn F.

Hi my name is lynn and I’m 21 years old. Being a nanny is the perfect job for me because I’ve always been in charge of watching children since I myself was a child. I’m the middle child of 6 kids. My was a stay at home mom and homeschooled every last one of us. When my now 26 year old sister and 32 year old brother went to college it was my job to step up and help with the school planning, meal prepping, cleaning and lots of other chores and responsibilities. Which I still do to this day. I’m currently the leading youth educator at my fathers church and have done quite a lot of volunteer work when it comes to children. I very well understand the importance and responsibilities that comes with raising your children. I’m very fun and creative so if it’s okay with you I’d like to teach them crafts and learning things while being their nanny. Children strive off structure and organization so helping create a plan or schedule for them would be my pleasure!
