As a physical therapist in Colombia I always encourage the kids to be healthy and keep active, I worked at foundations for kids with Down Syndrome and Autism. Kids in vulnerable conditions with special needs and diseases as Cerebral Palsy, and rare diseases. I volunteer at a foundation call ''Proyecto Union'' a foundation for kids with special needs as well, I help feeding the kids, creating activities for them, making the routines for their naps, improving their motor skills, promoting languages skills, positive behavior, physical emotional and social well being.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I think playing is the best way to encourage and promote skills through reading, storytelling, acting, fun art crafts games, free movement, feeling textures, cocking, coloring, classic games, meaningful walks to the park where they can meet with other kids explore and play.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Be in the same page with parents to raise the kids, help them grow healthy, independent and fulfill their goals.

My experience with special needs children...

I'm physicial therapist in Colombia, and worked with a lot of kids with special needs, and diseases like Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Rare diseases, Cancer and others. I support a mom with her 12 yo daughter with cerebral palsy, and I took care a 2.5 yo boy with a rare disease and delay in his motor and languages skills

The most important part about being a nanny...

I had so many memorable moments with the kids I've take care.

Simple moments as when I arrived to their home and the 1 year old baby always smile at me when he sees me, he wants me to hold him, he cuddles with me and wants huggies, that's just so sweet.

The first time I saw him walking, running, climbing, jumping by himself after all those afternoons trying so hard once and another time.

One of them I was with this little boy of 5 years old on a Foundation I was holing him dancing and he saw an airplane and that was magic for him he was so impressed and ask me what was it I tell him and he never could stop thinking about it.
