A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Victoria, and my passion is child education and development. Ever since I was little, I was surrounded by younger cousins, my nieces and nephews and I would always love to help around. I grew up around that so now at 22 years old even though I haven't had a paid experience in that field, I am a mother of a 2 yr old. Besides family, during high school I was in a teacher internship program, I would go every other day to my 3rd grade class and help out the students with their homework or what they were working on that day. I would really love to finish college to become a teacher soon, but I had my son and had to take a break, and I believe by nannying I will be able to learn even more and begin my career in the future.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I began changing dippers by the time I was 7, I was always around kids because of my big family. Also, in middle school I had to do community service hours for AVID and I chose to help out at a daycare for the summer. Of course, I was in middle school, but they allowed us to help out during feeding time, nap time and watching over them during recess.Then, in high school I was able to be in a teacher internship program in which is where I learned the most about children development in school, and I gained so much patience helping out the kids with their work, but it was all worth the satisfaction I got from when they got excited that they finally understood and answered correctly. Now i’m a mother and I can strongly say I believe i’ve really picked up the mother role quite quickly, and am more comfortable with taking care of younger children.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Since I am constantly moving around, I don't mind the tag games or whatever the kids come up with. I would always take the kids to the park to let them release energy. Watching movies, playing games, I honestly don't mind anything at all. Children have such characters and different mindsets that makes them fun to be around with. And with my son since he is only 5 months old i try to keep him moving , playing games that help him with his gross motor skills and cognitive as well by reading books, talking to him, and explaining everything i’m doing.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Recognizing that someone’s is trusting you with their angel, and to do everything and anything to keep them taken care of and also have fun with it. These are memories the kids will also have for the rest of their lives, so it’s best to make them good ones .

My experience with special needs children...

One of my younger cousins has autism. and is non-verbal. Because my aunt has other children of course it can be a bit of a weight on her, so we have always helped her as much as possible. That is also where I learned more about patience and being gentle.
