I worked with a 3 year old girl, who just started potty training. She was very independent so she didn't want any help. I asked her if she was a big girl, she said yes. I told her well big girls ask for help and you're a big girl right? With this conversation she let me help her. I look back on this as a great moment that allowed me to help her while supporting her independent spirit. Being there to help children navigate through key steps of life is a privilege.
