A little bit about me

Hi! I have been working in childcare since I was 13! I started volunteering at my local childcare centers during summer camps and babysitting for neighbors and family members. I eventually dove into the childcare world as an enrichment teacher with the company Launch in Seattle then COVID hit so I had to change jobs and I ended up working at Home Depot for a year until I joined my team at Hilltop Children’s Center, also in Seattle. I took a year off to do nannying full time and I miss it! I work with a before and after school program at the moment but hopefully I can find a family for long term! I love making connections with the kiddos as well as you, the parents! I know that trusting a stranger with your child can be nerve racking, especially after a pandemic, I am here to earn your entire family's trust and love your kiddos as much as you love them. I love to dance and do fun messy experiments! I love the outdoors so hopefully we can go on walks! I can’t wait to get to know yall!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I volunteered for 5 years with Launch in Seattle and started officially working for them with my own class in 2017 for 3 years and recently joined the team here at Hilltop Children’s Center. Between jobs throughout the years, I have babysat for neighbors and family members, family friends and even a few co workers.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love dancing to funky and groovy music, I love to draw or paint or do any form of art! I especially love messy art! Outdoor activities are my favorite when the sun is out and bright! Anything from going on a walk, playing at the park, having a picnic in the yard. I’m down for anything!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I feel the most important part is the connection you make with families as a whole, although I just look after your kiddos I still get to interact with the whole family daily if not weekly and I value strong connections because I believe that can't strengthen trust both ways as well as open up lines of communication.

I also feel another important part of being a nanny is following the child's lead in what they want to explore, learn and play! I worked with a Reggio Emilia inspired program in Seattle and loved seeing how quickly the kiddos progressed in their learning all through just play! I also love the Montessori style as well, anything where the child can explore safely with all the support I can give them all while having fun! I value supporting kiddos in spaces where they feel safe and feel comfortable. I just try my best everyday to be the adult I wish I had as a kid, and I strive to be that person that can have a big impact on your child!

My experience with special needs children...

I have almost 5 years working with kiddos that have ASD, Adhd, bipolar disorder as well as training working with behavioral needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think my favorite nanny moment is after 3
Long months of getting to know my new kiddos and family, and the younger kiddo being very reluctant to get to know me, one day they came up to me and gave me a hug and said “you know what? I’m starting to actually like you Ms. Victoria” it absolutely made my heart strings pull in every direction. Gaining the parents trust is important but that moment where the children show their trust in you is honestly the best feeling ever.

Marion I. - Seeking Work in Seattle

Full-Time Nanny Available in Seattle, WA: Marion I.

I am the mother of five grown kids- all successful professionals, now married and raising their own families. I am a retired corporate executive. When my husband died I decided to “ nanny “ my first grandson. I did that for 2 years 3 months. Then I moved to Seattle to take care of another grandson. He is now going to preschool so I am in between grand babies.
I have successfully taught baby sign language to a couple of babies which has been very useful for the baby and the parents. Babies and toddlers love having me as their best friend and companion. I am calm and patient and take the time to listen to what they need. We have fun doing all sorts of domestic activities as well as daily field trips.
