I worked as a behavioral technician for two years. In this position, I worked with children with autism and other disabilities. I handled communication with family, scheduling, and working with a child. I have worked with all ages and love to help children learn different skills.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I like to draw/color with children. It’s always so nice to see what they have drawn and hang it up somewhere. I also like to listen to music and dance, takes some energy out. Outside, I like to take a walk with children and help them relax like that.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Always being there for the children, being able to be present and not be afraid of criticism. Sometimes the children just want you to make something different than how you make it, or understand the world differently than you. You must always be respectful and kind.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with children who have autism, adhd, learning disabilities, Down syndrome, and other disabilities like being deaf or being nonverbal. No matter what disabilities a child has, I always treat them with respect and kindness.

The most important part about being a nanny...

While I was working at a center as a behavioral technician, we had a projector. With this projector we would put on music videos, the first time I saw it was so sweet. All the children were dancing and jumping around to nursery rhymes.
