More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I've volunteered at a lot of places to help kids and care for them. I've been to churches, worked at a pre-school, been to adoption centers, and visited many child hospitals. I've also been babysitting and nanny jobs for around five years. The most time I've spent connecting with kids was during my time working at Little Acorn Preschool. I worked with special needs kids there and taught many classes getting to know many amazing, creative kids. I also volunteer at Kessid Church, a church with 2 buildings, I volunteer at the uptown Vancouver building and the kids ministry is amazing, there are so many good people there and the kids are so fun and I get to work with kids who can't hear. I've also volunteered at the children's hospital, Randall Children's Nephrology and I absolutley love it. I bring the kids toys and donations and even get to talk and play with some of them, and it brings me so much joy seeing them so happy.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love entertaining children and having fun exploring their creative minds. I do lot's of outdoor activities such as going to parks, going on walks in the neighborhood, and backyard play. I also have a few activities for those rainy days when we have to be inside. I'll always bring a few arts and crafts and toys of my own (If It's okay with the parents) and I also love to let the kids show me some of the activities they normally do around the house to have fun and join in on that! I can also bake with the kids and help with homework. I'll always make sure the house is clean and looking the same if not better than it did when I got there.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important thing about being a good nanny is being able to keep children safe while also making sure they're having a good time. When I'm taking care of a child I am being very responsible and safe while also being very fun and child like. I will always follow parent's instructions and keep parent's child safe at all cost and also playing with the kids and trying to be a nanny/babysitter they'll want to see again.

My experience with special needs children...

My little sister is deaf and I always did my best to help her out with whatever she needed as a child and still do today. This has inspired me to help and have fun with other kids with special needs. I learned sign language when I was young (I'm fluent now) and I've been learning brail as I'm starting to help blind kids as well as deaf. I'm not fluent in brail, but I know a lot and I'd love to read brail with any child who would like it.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I've had a lot of great nanny moments where I've really connected with the kids, I get a lot of these heartwarming moments working with kids with special needs. My favorite nanny moment is the time I taught a kid who couldn't hear how to sign their name (Using sign language) She was a little girl around 2 years old and when I taught her she smiled and laughed so hard and showed her mom right when she got home. I still know the girl today, she's much older, around 5 years old and we're good friends.
