Hi! I’m winter. I am 17 years old, I am now a Junior in high school. work well with children, I’ve babysat my whole life. I used to go to a daycare as a child and I would basically daycaring (sometimes nightcaring) for the other children there. I’ve babysat sisters, cousins, neighbor’s, dogs, house. I find it the easiest job if you know what you’re doing. I will say that it can be very very stressful but I can handle it. I love a good bond with kids and over time things will be great and they’ll get used to me and love having me around.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love having conversation with kids. They have so much on their minds and sometimes they need to let it all out- even if it doesn’t make sense. That’s an “activity” I love to do. I do believe in going outside and just taking in that vitamin D and nobody wants to stay in the house all day. 20-30 minutes does a lot especially for a child. Coloring, art and craft, anything that they kids want to do as long as it’s appropriate and fun!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Some would say “taking care of the kid” if that’s the case then parents are nanny’s too. What makes being a nanny or something in that category is that the kid is what’s most important. Being there for them and welcoming them with open arms and being their friend and guider. When their parents aren’t around I want the child/ children to know that they are safe in my care and can come to me for anything.

My experience with special needs children...

I have never personally ever babysat someone with special needs but I i’ve had friends from school that are in a special-needs class and I have watched over them. I’ve been friends with those two people for about 7 going on 8 years now. They are very sweet but you have to be patient with them and kind. Except them for who they are. They’ve always been so kind to me and super caring, they used to request me to come watch over them during school hours, eat lunch with them, walk them to and from the bus, they always have bright smiles on their face when they see me, a lot of teachers know me because of how great I am with them. I think special-needs are great just they way they are!

The most important part about being a nanny...

This one time I was bathing this kid I was babysitting and he put the soap on his hair and mad it into a mohawk and then put the soap on his chin to make it a beard and it was so hilarious because I had never seen that before.
