I have a niece and nephew myself that I had been blessed to take care of a few times as well as some neighborhood babysitting jobs!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love to do arts and crafts with kids. I will often bring activities to do (unless otherwise requested not to.) I will do almost anything the child is wanting to do (within reason of course.) and encourage each aspect of the children’s unique personality. Reading to the children is a personal favorite as it’s a calming activity and something I try to make an interactive learning experience.
The most important part about being a nanny...
To understand and reciprocate the trust the parents give as they put the child into my care. As a parent I understand that your children are incredibly important to you so in turn their comfort, happiness, and wellbeing is of my utmost priority as their caretaker. I also believe it is important to be very emotionally aware and intelligent when it comes to taking care of children because they’re figuring this whole “existing” thing out. As a caretaker molding your methods to best fit each child’s personality is key!
My experience with special needs children...
I have not cared personally for special needs children but if supplied with a care regiment and some information I have no doubt I will be able to adapt and provide the best possible experience for the children.
