More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I’ve had a full year of experience working with children, I worked in a daycare with infants 3mon-11mon, toddlers 2-3, and preschoolers 4-9. In high school, my senior year, I took a preschool teaching class where I taught and took care of children ages 3-6 at least twice a week. I’ve babysat younger cousins and siblings as well, I have 4 younger siblings I’ve looked after and around 4-5 younger cousins. I’ve looked after ages ranging from 0-17 years old. I have a passion for making sure children in the upcoming days are educated and well taken care of, given the most support, love and care. One of my favorite jobs had to be my daycare job, the only reason I had left was because of how the facility treated members that joined their daycare, I wanted to find a service that treated their members and workers with care and love.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Art has got to be one of my favorite activities, you can do a lot of learning with it as well. I also believe dancing, running, jumping and moving around is very beneficial for children. I think a small amount (30mins-1hr) of some cartoons and block toys to play with gives them a normal childhood experience. Scavenger hunts! Exploring the parks! Going to play with puppies! Reading and writing practice! Snack time!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Making sure the children are safe while the parent isn’t around. I would like to be the kind of nanny that they feel totally comfortable leaving their child with and fully trust to take care of them well. I’d never want to make a parent think there child is in any danger. The child’s safety is top priority.

My experience with special needs children...

I am special needs myself, so I feel like I have an understanding of the child's struggles. I’ve taken care of various children with autism, adhd, and anxiety. I’ve also taken care of children with behavioral issues like biting, hitting, kicking and scratching. I don’t believe there is anything WRONG with them, just that they need some extra help to learn. I didn’t receive that as a child so I’m very willing to give that to any child that needs it.

The most important part about being a nanny...

A little girl about 2 years old, she had autism and had just woken up from a nap, she was very overwhelmed and just wanted her mommy. I calmed her down and told her that her mommy would be back soon and that everything would be okay, she held my hand and wouldn’t let me put her down, she wanted to be held all the time and it was the cutest thing. It was very nice to know that she was that comfortable and trusting with me and I hope all the children I care for feel that way.
