A little bit about me
Hello!
I'm Abigail, I currently go to school at the Illinois Institute of Technology and am studying architecture. I'm looking for a full/part-time job over the summer. My experience working with kids, started in 2015 when I started teaching swim lessons through the Lawrence aquahawks (Kansas), since then I've also worked as a lifeguard and babysat for a couple of families. I am CPR / first aid certified and have a valid driver's license.

A little bit about me
I am a 19 year old KU student. I have 6 years of experience with all types of children. I worked at a kids after school program and summer camp for four years where I had 15 kindergarteners that I planned creative projects for, implemented education into fun projects, and enjoyed getting to know. I also nannied for a 1 year old and 3 year old previously. I enjoy working with kids that have special needs, and I specifically have experience with children with autism. I am looking for a summer job between the KU semesters. If you’re looking for someone with a lot of experience to love on your kid like their own, we may be a perfect match! I have a car and I use to be CPR certified, but I don’t typically feel comfortable transporting children if it can be avoided. I love cleaning and doing housework as well.

A little bit about me
Hi! I'm Cassidy! I am currently a graduate student at KU and work as a GTA, so I'm in need of a summer job. I love working with kids and have about 7 years of on-and-off caregiving experience. I've worked as a babysitter, nanny, daycare worker with toddlers, preschool teacher, and substitute teacher for K-12. I absolutely love children of all ages! I am more than comfortable with pets, willing to help with light housekeeping, and drive the kiddos to the park or the zoo, or anything fun! I'd also be happy to do any sort of tutoring. I'm energetic and bubbly and would love to be a summer buddy for your kids.

A little bit about me
Hello! I am a recent graduate from the University of Kansas and am looking for a summer gig before moving to Chicago for nursing school! I have worked at a childcare center/preschool for a total of 3 years and spent the majority of my time there in the infant (0-walking) and toddler/twos classrooms. This job has provided me with great hands-on learning experience and extensive training on how to care for young infants through preschool-age children. I also have experience in babysitting all kinds of ages of children since I was about age 15. As you can probably tell, I have a passion for caring for children! I also worked as a swim lesson instructor, lifeguard, and pool manager for 6 years, and therefore have my CPR and First aid training and am very confident in these skills. You can trust that your children will be well taken care of and safe when in my care :)

How to Hire a Summer Nanny in Lawrence, KS
Nanny Lane helps you find a summer nanny in Lawrence, KS to take care of your children while school is out.
We offer nanny services including background checks, Agency, and nanny payroll. Start by posting a profile with a job description, and soon you can start connecting with nannies who fit your family.
What Is a Summer Nanny?
A summer nanny is a nanny who works during the school break, for the full summer or for part of it. Summer nannies are often teachers, college students, or experienced nannies who prefer seasonal work, so families can find help when school-age children are home during the day.
Common Responsibilities of Summer Nannies in Lawrence, KS
Summer days are less structured than the school year. A summer nanny plans activities such as park visits, swimming, crafts, and day trips, prepares meals and snacks, and may take children to camps or classes. For younger children, they keep up the usual nap and mealtime routines.
What to Consider Before You Hire
Start your search early, since good summer nannies are booked quickly. Decide your start and end dates, your weekly hours, and whether you need flexibility around camps, vacations, or travel. Be clear about transportation, and about whether you need the nanny to drive. If your dates might change, say so up front.
Summer Nanny Interview Questions
Once you find a promising candidate, invite them for an interview to see if they would be a great fit for your family. Here are some questions you can ask:
- Which dates are you available this summer?
- Are you able to adjust if our dates or hours change?
- What activities would you plan for the children during the day?
- Are you comfortable driving, including to camps and activities?
- Do you have experience with children of our children's ages?
At this stage, request their references and ask their references some questions. After preparing the job offer or contract, we recommend that you run a background check before the start date.
